1897-1898.
Die Waechter was established in September, 1897, in the interest of German Catholic societies. Although a distinctively religious journal, it was tinged with socialistic predilections. Until August, 1898, it was a monthly publication; it then became a weekly, but after four issues it passed out of existence in September, 1898. Mr. F. Tombridge was editor and publisher during its lifetime.
