Inducted 2024
As a journalist for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Jim was inducted with his business writing colleague, Dave Nicklaus. Together they did a long-running STL Today video segment, “The Bottom Line.” Along with Dave, Jim provided perceptive, even-handed coverage of St. Louis-based companies and industries, including analyses of and commentaries about a multitude of area businesses. Jim graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia’s journalism program in 1973. Jim’s coverage over the years of the banking industry has been reliable and adept, dealing with the rapid, ongoing consolidation of local banks, and the possible broad effects of such mergers and the possible financial fluctuations. The two reporters consistently provided fresh, local perspectives about stock-market surprises, along with anticipated ups and downs and unanticipated plummeting stock.
