1874-1878.

Mines, Metals, and Arts was the name of an eight-page quarto weekly established early in 1874 by Charles E. Ware & Co. Joseph E. Ware, a mining engineer of fine attainments, was the editor. The publication possessed many excellencies and came to be regarded as a promising property, but after about three and a half years’ existence the proprietors, finding themselves hampered by other business, suspended its publication.
