Alvin Reid worked as a journalist in St. Louis for over 30 years, with his byline appearing in the Globe-Democrat, Baseball Weekly, St. Louis Business Journal and the St. Louis American, where he also served as City Editor. Alvin was honored twice by the Missouri Press Association, which named him the sports columnist of the year. The St. Louis Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists honored his as one of their “living legends” in 2024.
