For decades Ellen served as an award-winning reporter, managing editor, editor and then publisher for the St. Louis Business Journal. Before that, she reported for KMOX-AM where her in-depth series and features won many national awards. Ellen also reported for the St. Louis Globe-Democrat. In returement she served as a special advisor to the American City Business Journals, the parent company of the St. Louis Business Journal. Her articles appeared in Time, Newsweek, Readers’ Digest and Seventeen, among many others. A graduate of Vassar and Columbia University, she received an honorary doctorate from University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2002.
