Spirit

1876-1881.

The St. Louis Spirit was established about 1876, by Steele & Burt, as a weekly secret society paper. In about a year Steele retired, and Burt continued the publication until October, 1881, when the paper was consolidated with the Western Livestock Journal, which he had previously published.
