1876-1877.
In 1876, H.D. O’Brien commenced the publication of the St. Louis Railway World, a journal specially devoted to the interests of railway employees. One year after its first issue he sold out to a similar publication in St. Louis.(From the History of St. Clair County, Illinois by Brink, McDonough & Co. 1881).
