1882-1885.

The Universe, I.E. Diekenga, editor and proprietor, made its appearance in the latter part of 1882, and was discontinued in June, 1885. It contained thirty-two to forty pages of “popular” literature, original and selected, and illustrated with ordinary woodcuts. The architectural department was under charge of J.B. Legg.
