KFTK History

​The 97.1 FM frequency has been home to many different formats and call letters over the years. Prior to the assignment of the KFTK call letters in 2000, the station was KXOK-FM, playing a classic rock format. It began its existence as an FM talk station under the ownership of Emmis Broadcasting, relying mostly on nationally syndicated programming in its early days.
